The World Cup Took Over Our Office

If you've walked into the REALIV office over the past few weeks, there's a good chance you've heard a World Cup match playing in the background.

As the sports guy on the team, I've loved every minute of it. One of my favorite parts hasn't even been the soccer itself — it's been watching everyone come together around it. We have some passionate Mexico fans in the office, others cheering for Team USA, and somehow every match became an excuse to gather around the TV for 90 minutes. There was plenty of friendly trash talk, cheering, and the occasional celebration that probably distracted everyone else in the office.

But what I've enjoyed even more is seeing what the World Cup has done outside our office.

The World Came to Our Backyard

With the tournament being hosted here in the United States, we've had the chance to welcome fans from all over the world. Everywhere you go, you see jerseys from different countries, hear different languages, and feel an energy that's hard to describe. For a few weeks, the world has come to visit our backyard.

That's what makes the World Cup feel different. You don't have to know every player or understand every rule. You just feel the excitement around you, and suddenly you're part of it.

Who We're Cheering for Next

With Team USA's run coming to an end this week, the office has started looking for who to cheer for next.

For me, it's Argentina.

Not because I've always been an Argentina supporter, but because I'd love to see one more iconic matchup: Messi vs. Mbappé. The greatest player of this generation against the player who looks ready to carry the game into the next. As a sports fan, that's the kind of moment you don't want to miss.
